Most common work pricing:

Two coats of varnish (exterior only) $ 75.00 @ ft. + materials.

Two coats bottom paint $ 25.00 @ ft. + materials.

New 3M 5200 bottom (no frame work) $ 275.00 @ ft + materials.

RESTORATION CONTRACT AND POLICY

SHOP RATE

Shop rate is $45.00 @ hour. Unless overtime is agreed upon by owner, overtime is $67.50 per hour. A 20% deposit is required before work is started on boat or engine unless other arrangements have been made as stated below. On major projects payments must be made every 15 days. Final payment must be the entire balance that is due. Final payments will be paid in cash or money order before boat or engine is to be picked up. Boats or equipment will not leave premises without final payment. We need to stay floating too.

INSURANCE

All boats must be insured and a copy of the policy provided to Diamond Boat Works before work commences. Customer must remove all non-secured items such as life jackets, fire extinguisher, paddles, anchor, etc. before delivering to shop. Diamond Boat Works will not be responsible for any personal property left with your boat.

SERVICE CALLS

All service calls are within 100 miles. Flat fee to leave the shop is $75.00 and the additional time is calculated from shop to owner’s location. Road time is $45.00 per hour portal to portal. Boats must be picked up within five days of completion or a storage fee of $20.00 @ day will be charged.

WARRANTEE

All work is fully warranted for 30 days from completion.

ESTIMATION POLICY

All work will be done in a timely manner and a pre-determine completion date will not be set. All work is done on a time and material basis. An estimate is only a ball park idea of what the job might cost. The only way to determine the amount of work and cost is after we have opened up a project be it woodwork or motor work. Restoration is artwork- it takes time!

CHANGE ORDERS

You will notified of any substantial change (over $200.00) by phone then a change order will be mailed. Most (80%) of our restorations involve at least four change orders.

TERMS

Invoices due and payable by 10 days from the date of the invoice. If payment is not received within 20 days a finance charge of 1 ½ % per month (annual percentage of 18%) will be added to unpaid balance.

DISCLOSURE

Quality restoration is true artwork that is expensive and time consuming. Do not execute this contract if you have not earmarked the funds to complete the restoration. The majority (80%) of our restoration projects over the last 28 years have exceeded the original bids. Innumerable variables and unique possibilities come to bear on each restoration project. Consequently, there is no true basis for accurate cost prediction. Initial estimating is a best guess proposition. Owners receive, at regular intervals, a detailed work report, a photographic record of the work in progress and an itemized invoice for the work performed. You will receive a quality product. Prepare yourself and family from the outset that this will take time and we cannot give you an accurate finish price or date until your restoration is complete.

This agreement shall insure to the benefit of and be binding upon the respective heirs, personal representatives, successors and assigns of the respective parties. Owner acknowledges a receipt of a copy of this agreement.

This agreement contains the entire understanding between the parties and shall not be modified or altered, unless and until reduced to writing and signed by an authorized representative for owner and Diamond Boat Works.
